Event Entry:

All players (GB9 members and those entering on an single event basis) are required to complete the entry form before the closing date to register for this event. Before completing the form please ensure you have already contacted the hotel and booked your room in accordance with the instructions below (or made arrangements with another player to do so if you are sharing).

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY IS 9 JULY 2013

All entry forms and hotel room bookings must be completed by the closing date to ensure entry to this event.  The only exception will be where a player withdraws and GB9 contact a reserve player after this date, in which case you will have 24 hours to complete the form and book your room.

Single event entry:

If you are not a GB9 member but wish to enter an event you do not need to wait for us to offer you a place, simply book your accommodation (see below) and complete the event entry form. After submitting the form we will give you instructions on how to pay your entry fee of £120.  Your entry fee must be paid in advance at least 2 weeks prior to the event, unless otherwise agreed with GB9.  If you have already submitted your entry form and now wish to pay your fee details can be found on the payment page.

Players meeting:

There will be no players meeting before this event.

Accommodation instructions:

To guarantee entry to the event players MUST contact the hotel to book rooms before the closing date for entries quoted above.  Use the booking line quoted below.  DO NOT book online or by any other method as this is likely to be more expensive and does not mark you down as being part of the GB9 event.

If you have not booked by this date the hotels will inform us and you will not be allowed to play in the event. It is important, therefore, to contact us to let us know if you are having any difficulty booking a room.

It is a condition of entry that all players stay at the hotel venue on the Friday and Saturday night.

Choice of accommodation is on a first-come-first-served basis and with a limited number of twin or family rooms available we strongly advise players to book early.

Rooms are priced at the preferential rate of £41 pppn shared occupancy or £65 pppn single occupancy, including breakfast and use of all hotel facilities.

The hotel will require a valid debit/credit card to secure booking but no money will be taken until check-in.  Cancellation can be made up to 24 hours before the first night.

Upon checking in the hotel receptionist will give you a voucher confirming your 2 nights stay, which you must present to the tournament desk for entry to the tournament.

Travelling to the venue:

By air:
Stansted Airport is served by flights from across Europe. Upon arrival at the airport no further road transport needs to be made – the venue is part of the airport complex itself.

By train/foot:
Stansted Airport railway station is also a part of the airport complex. The Stansted Express service runs four times every hour between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport taking between 45 and 55 minutes. One train every hour also runs between Birmingham New Street and Stansted Airport via Leicester, Peterborough and Cambridge. The hotel is signposted upon arrival at the station.

By road:
From the north and north-west only: make your journey on the A1 via Retford, Newark-on-Trent and Peterborough. After joining the A1(M), follow directions for Huntingdon and join the A14. From there, follow the road until you join the M11 at Junction 14 for Cambridge. Leave the M11 at Junction 8 and, when you reach the roundabout, do a very sharp left turn. Go straight over the next roundabout and follow the road for around 500m. Follow directions for the airport, continue straight on until just after you pass the railway station and the hotel is situated on your left.

From all other directions: travel on the M25 and leave at Junction 27 where you will merge into Junction 6 of the M11. Leave the M11 at Junction 8 and, after following a very long right hand turn for 500m, go straight over the roundabout. Follow the road for around 500m. Follow directions for the airport, continue straight on until just after you pass the railway station and the hotel is situated on your left.

Entry fees:

Tour players must ensure all membership fees are be paid up to date before the start of play at this event (Open entry players see details above).  You may pay in cash at the event but in order to speed up the registration process prior to the start of play we would prefer you to pay in advance via bank transfer, PayPal or cheque.  We also accept all major credit cards at the event (subject to a 2.75% surcharge).

If paying by bank transfer you must be sure this reaches us the day before the event.  Payments by cheque must arrive 10 days prior.  PayPal payments must be made by the day before the event at the latest using cleared funds (credit/debit card or PayPal balance).  Failure to observe these deadlines could result in you being asked to pay in cash at the event or forfeit your match.

Failure to pay the instalment due will result in you being refused entry to this and any subsequent events until arrears are paid.  There will be absolutely no exceptions and fees must be paid up to date prior to the start of play.

Draw / Start Times:

Friday – Main event starts at 13:00
Saturday – Main Event continues from 08:30
Sunday – Main event resumes at 08:30.  Challenge event (for those not making main event Last 32) starts at 09:00

Actual start times for each player will published at approximately 8pm on the Wednesday prior to the event.  In the meantime if you would like to work out your likely start time you can do this if you know your current ranking by looking at the match schedule.

The actual draw will be displayed on the notice board in the venue 1 hour before the start of play on the Friday evening and on our live scoring site shortly after play has begun.

Please note: The Challenge event draw will be done at the venue on Saturday evening once the double elimination stage of the main event has been completed.

Player registration:

Please remember you must register at the tournament desk before your first match. You will need to ensure any outstanding member fees are paid and you present the voucher given to you by reception on checking in. If you cannot do BOTH of these things your registration will not be accepted and your match will be forfeited.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome to attend any GB9 event and admittance is completely free.  You do not need a ticket just come down to the venue and enjoy some world class pool action.  If you wish to stay at the hotel venue then you are welcome to book a room at the special GB9 rate by using the instructions above.
