Your feedback to GB9

Many thanks to all the people who provided us with feedback after launching the tour website.  Here's a selection of the feedback we've received so far:

Good luck to the GB9 from all of us at Pro9.co.uk.

We'll do everything in our power to help you make a success of this fantastic new challenge, if there's ever anything you need, just ask.

All the very best with your new venture, Big Dave.
Editor: www.Pro9.co.uk

Well done Lee - looks great and format much more appealing
Richard Underwood (Leeds)

Good luck with the tour, Guys.
I must say the new format looks great!
Jon Davies (Bristol)

Website looks great guys, a big thank you to all who are dedicating their time to this. A very exciting time. As a player who would most certainly fall into challenge division for a couple of seasons at the very least, I want to say you make me feel like it is very accessible, and not overawed like some old tours. It is a fantastic incentive to try and get up amongst the big guns, and there is scope for upsets in the main tournament. I have no doubt it will be a fantastic success. And the fact that payments are spread makes even less well off people (like me) able to enter. I appreciate that this is going to draw major interest, so hope I get involved in time. I am sure I speak for a hell of a lot of people when I say Thanks again, and really looking forward to this.
(Aspiring 9 Baller) Dudley Brook (Portsmouth)

The website looks great, the tour looks great, I hope a lot of players get behind the GB9 and give it their full support, I know I will.

My main concern with the website is that it must be updated regularly and players shouldn't rely on logging onto forums from other sites to get rankings / news etc.

For the tour, will membership packs be sent out including full details of the tour - how long it goes on for, prize money, events, ranking system etc. I know a lot of players haven't been happy with the BPPPA for cancelling their tour without notice and not providing a breakdown on the membership fees.
Jon-Paul Murrow (Glasgow)

Not sure which tour I'll be eligible to join but will DEFINITELY be joining one of them. This tour is going to be the best thing since before bread slicers were even thought up!!!

Well done Lee! Website looks good. As I've said before, let me know if you need anything statistical or analytical from me!

Keep the faith!
James "009-ball" Austin (Oxford)

At last, a tour that will bring together all the best players in the UK under a single roof. We have a massive amount of talent in this country, I sincerely hope this tour will be the springboard to propel UK pool firmly onto the world stage.

Can't wait for the challenge!!!
Simon Widlo (Leeds)

The website looks great and I'm really looking forward to the new tour.
Ben Moore (Leicester)

This sounds like a great tour and I would like to be apart of it
Jack Triggs (Basildon)

This looks awesome and much better organised that the old tour. This tour looks extremely professional with the match times published well in advance, anyone that wants to take pool seriously has got to be happy with that! Looks like I'll be hitting the practice table again after visiting this site!
Glenn Bevan

Whether I actually sign up or not depends on the exact locations and frequency of the tournaments. Looking forward to receiving more information.
Malcolm Clarke (Lanchester, Durham)

I missed the chance being a BPPPA player last year due to lack of experience and showing little confidence. Now that I have showed improvement towards the american pool game I have no hesitation to join the GB 9 ball tour and looking forward immensely to the 2008 season.

All concerned, doing a wonderful job .Keep it going, good luck and hats off to you all.
Mark Hughes (Sunbury On Thames)

Great site, well laid out and very informative.

Things are starting to look upwards for American pool in the UK as this new tour gives a good spread of events both in ability to win prize money and locations.

I'm looking forward to the 1st event with excitement as I know it'll be a cracker!
Pat Holtz (Larkhall)

Well I don't suppose I should preach to you all about giving us feedback if I'm not going to fill one of these forms in myself so here goes!

The more I think about this format the more I really believe it's going to be a great success. I can think of so many good players outside the top 32 who on their day can be great players but still struggle to get past a quarter final and therefore win decent money at a main tour event. This is usually because they meet a Gray, a Dazzler or Boyzi who just happens to have stepped it up to 'on-fire' status. Well now these players can at last have their day - hey it might even be me LOL!

I can't decide which division to apply to but I guess I'll probably apply to the Pro section because I'm stubborn and like to think I'm better than I am. I certainly *want* to be better than I am so I guess the Pro section is the place to be. Hell, season one might be my only chance to play there!

I've often wondered if we'll reach the required number of entrants (96) and I guess I still wonder. I suppose time will tell and we'll see over the next few months whether Britain really wants this. I certainly hope so because I think this could be a big turning point in the game where we make the best of the talent we have in these shores.

Finally, I just want to say that it's great to see such a positive response but if you do have concerns or think we should change something please don't be frightened to say.

Good luck to everyone.
Lee Rigby (Barnsley)

Lee, and everybody else involved - Absolutely positively the most congratulations for getting everything perfect so far. The site looks great, its taken time (naturally) to bring everything together and now we are just a few decent venues away from a great tour and new beginning of pro pool in the UK.

Cant thank you guys enough as a player, for the time and effort spent on this, its priceless - I only hope that you get the support of the players and that the tour grows to become as successful as we all want it to be. Well done, fingers crossed, have we finally got something that could be recognised in the world of 9 ball?

I'll stop the ramble there - just brilliant.
Ossie (Ipswich)

I always wanted to play the 9 ball circuit in the UK, now the addition of the new gb9tour has spurred me on to finally play....
Mick Hill (Morely, Leeds (born Dudley))

Nice one mate, up and running at last. You have done a great deal for the sport in a very short amount of time. Its a credit to you. Lets keep it up.
Simon D'Vali (Leeds)

Wow, looks really good. I can see a lot of time and effort has gone into this. I haven't picked up a cue for over three months but I'm going to start practising again now!
(Anon)

I think this could be a terrific tour, I hope it all works out.
James Tully (Royston Cambridgeshire)

When I have been talking to other players of late, the general feel for the GB9balltour is that of great excitement....this can only be good for the game here in the UK. I really feel that the "new format" is one of the key points that will prove to be a huge success....it gives a fair chance to ALL players of ALL standards and that is priceless in a tour.
Roll on 2008!!!!!!
Daryl "Dazzler" Peach (Blackpool)

Lee Rigby (the new president) I love u
Karl Boyes (Blackpool)

I think the new tour sounds fantastic. I am really looking forward to it starting, esp coz I won't meet my sexy fella boyzi...
Lynette Horsburgh (Blackpool)

whole idea of tour great my only concern is having to get there on Friday cause of my work and family commitments but hopefully I can overcome these and take my place on what sounds a great tour good luck and thanks 4 all your work and dedication
Paul James (Northampton)

This country needs a simple tour that gives everyone a chance and as long as it is organised properly it will be just what we need. Well done.
Rob Allen (Cambridge)

All looks great and I am looking forward to joining the tour and shooting some pool but I do have two small points.

It would be really good to know the dates for the events before committing so we have time to plan holidays and time off. Making up front payments would mean that you want to attend every event :-)

I know there is no longer a ladies tour, but if they are allowed to play for a reduced entry fee they should only be allowed to take a reduced percentage of the prize money. There are already advantages on the break and the entry fee and in some cases they are more than capable of beating players on a level basis.
Dave Simmonds (Leamington Spa)

Looks like a good crack and a fun packed weekend.
Tom Emes (Pershore)

As long as this tour delivers on all fronts as promised by the founders it should be a pleasure to be involved and compete in... good luck, not that I think you'll need it...
Adam Smith (Sunderland)

Not too sure about playing on Friday evening, and I think some players may be concerned too. People have work commitments, and like me for example don't finish on some days until after 7pm, does this mean I will automatically penalised? or will I have to use up holiday time to play? You have my support on the new tour, however with playing on Friday, I will have to review whether it would be feasible for me to join.
Ash Memon (Leicester)

Hi mate nice site, your a breath of fresh air in this difficult uk marked good luck the Cyclone
Mark Cyclone Collins (Bournemouth)

Would like time to understand the different divisions but wanted to register my interested ASAP.
All looks very good though.
Martin Nightingale (Telford)

This tour has the potential to move British nine ball to another level. From the grass routes enthusiast through to the top pro players we now have a solid structure to push this game forward to where it should have been years ago. Good luck all, cant wait for the tour to begin !
Andrew Richardson (Leeds)

I don't think that i am up to the challenge of the Pro division so I will be joining the challenge division if my application gets accepted that is.
Well done Lee and everyone involved with putting American cue sports on the map.
Looking forward to 2008 and one last thing I NEED TO BE ON THIS TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darren Randall (Mansfield)

Best of luck guys, hope this gets the support it deserves. It's what we've all be asking for now for a while, let see if people are willing to step up and make it work.

Shame I can't make a decision on applying until I know the venues and dates and where I'll be working next year!!!! If not next year, then hopefully I'm in for 2009
Mike Abel (Portslade)

The format and idea sounds good. I stopped playing because I became disappointed in the previous formats. I look forward to more details.
John Hoy (Croydon)

The site looks excellent so far - perhaps some info on the number being accepted for the pro tour and the prize money likely to be available. The country defo needs something like this to work. Well done.
Stephen Capaldi (Glasgow)

Well done. Great response Lee! The fields are going to be awesome and at last we have a tour in UK at 9 ball pool for all standards of play! And I predict a lot of English 8 ball players will flood this tour! Congrats to you Lee and team the new superman of pool! GO ON PAL!!!
Darren Dynamite Appleton (Pontefract)

I've heard you guys are working very hard on this and wish you all the luck in the world! Nice to see someone has the balls to keep pool alive in the U.K.
Anthony Ginn (London)

The new format sounds great, Can't wait for the season to start, hope the tour is a success.
Luke Goodchild (Hayle)

I cant wait to get into playing competetive 9 ball, and this looks like the perfect opportunity! I've been playing English 8 ball for years, to a high standard, but since playing American 8 and 9 ball a couple of years ago for fun ive been hooked! So im going to attempt the switch... Great job getting this tour together!
Paul Edwards (Cheltenham)

I have been thinking about brushing the cobwebs off the cue as i have not played in tournaments for quite a while now. After reading about the new tour i am really looking forward to playing again and seeing some old friends plus all the new talent Britain has to offer. GOOD LUCK.
Lee Tucker (London)

Well done Lee and the team that put this fantastic website which will publish all the details of what will be a fantastic tour. Cant wait for the tour to start, to play against the best players in the country.
Craig Dixon (Hemsworth)

Exciting times ahead it seems. Great website and great format for a national tour. Let's hope everybody gets behind this.
Jonathan Mathers (Birmingham)

I cant wait for it to start after going to some BPPPA events I know I have a chance to shine on this tour and will certainly be joining asap!!
Cant wait for it to start
Dan Mccreadie (Barnstaple,Devon)

Happy days, I nearly retired myself from the game.
Brian Saleh (South Shields)

Looking forward to it mate.
Will hopefully revolutionise the British American pool scene.
Neil Mackie (Hull)

This sounds excellent! I am an eight and nine-ball addict who wants to have a crack at some well-organised and prestigious events. The tour looks like an great place to start.
Chris Else (Hitchin)

Sounds really great guys. I'm looking forward to coming down to a few events

Craig Hirst (Birmingham)

Best of luck for the Tour, looking forward to a great 2008!
Andy Jeronimidis (Reading)

At last a positive move towards having a structured professional 9 ball tour in the UK. Lets hope all the players give it the support it deserves and the GB9 can become as successful as the EPBF Euro Tour.
Dave McCarthy (Worthing)

I can't wait Lee! Format looks great and I can see you've really done your homework on this one.
Jonni Fulcher (Geneva)

This looks like a great tour to be part of, with a great format, looking forward hopefully to playing on it.
Roger Haddon (Wolverhampton)

Well done to Lee and enveryone incvolved in getting this off the ground, am so looking forward to getting back on the tour in 2008.
Deano Watson (Nottingham)

Sounds like a good system. The first event will be a good test to see if it will be a success. I have full enthusiasm in the tour and believe it will be a new beginning for 9-ball in the UK!! It will be good for the juniors as 9-ball is the one of the only sports we can play the biggest names in the game at such a young age!
Phil Burford (Darlington)

Sounds really exciting keep up the good work and send me some feedback....Basildon bomber signing off.....a new era has begun.
Tony Burton (Basildon)

The chance to play on a 9 ball professional tour in the UK will be great for everyone who loves to play american pool. This will most certainly improve the standard of all players on tour and is welcome site to the future of pool!
Joseph Tonkin (Walsall)

Cant wait for 2008 to start the challenge division it's about time we had a tour for all abilities.
Colin Gray (Reading)

This seems like a very good idea. Knowing when your match is is a brilliant idea and having more than one opportunity to win some money can only be a good thing.
Allen Lowe (Dudley)

I have reached a level pool where I now need to progress level of play by playing players at my level or above and would like to join the tour to better myself...
(Anon)

Cant wait for 2008 to start the challenge division it's about time we had a tour for all abilities.
Colin Gray (Reading)

I'm back in England and have really been looking forward to getting back into the UK tournaments and seeing everyone again. This is something I never imagined and sounds excellent, I couldn't have wished for more! Can't wait, good luck and see everyone soon!
